National Service with Negba
What does the service involve?
- Total immersion in the educational activities and daily life of the Negba facilities.
- Supporting groups of children and teenagers, building a personal and lasting relationship with them.
- Leading activities and workshops in various areas of interest.
- Participation in special events: excursions, highlights, summer camps, and unique initiatives. The work is carried out as part of a team, in a professional and supportive environment that encourages personal initiative and continuous learning.
Support and Training
Volunteers receive training before the start of their service, as well as professional guidance and personal support from the association’s team throughout the year. The National Service in Negba is managed in partnership with the organization Bat Ami. The National Service in Negba is a stimulating, rewarding, and meaningful experience—for the volunteers, and especially for the children and young people. Many volunteers choose to continue for a second year within the Negba community. The Year of the Shirout Leumi
Alongside young people performing their national service, Negba also welcomes volunteers for a year of service, who choose to dedicate an entire year to meaningful educational and social action, guided by the values of equal opportunity, responsibility, and solidarity.
These volunteers integrate themselves into the daily life of Negba: they support children and teenagers, participate in developing educational programs, assist with learning, and lead activities. They serve as stable and significant adult role models for the young people.
Throughout the year, they work within a professional educational team, receive guidance, and develop skills in initiative, leadership, teamwork, and community engagement. For many, this year at Negba is a defining experience, combining educational commitment, social responsibility, and personal growth.
Scholarship students from academic institutions
Negba collaborates with higher education institutions, within the framework of which scholarship students volunteer in the association’s programs as part of scholarship initiatives offered by their institutions.
Among the partners:
- Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
- Kaye College
- Sami Shamoon College of Engineering
- Hemdat HaDarom
- and other institutions
Students commit to weekly volunteer hours, taking part in academic tutoring, educational activities, and the support of children and youth. They bring their knowledge, skills, and academic experience into the field.
This partnership allows students to connect their studies with meaningful social engagement, while giving children the opportunity to benefit from the presence of inspiring and approachable young adults.
